P.S. I Love You
the cynic romantic in me can’t help but enjoy early 60s love songs only partially and ironically. i enjoy the sounds and sentiments in them yet i wouldn’t fully accept these songs as accurate portrayals of my experience with romantic love. but that’s exactly why i’m drawn to them. i can enjoy them without having to invest any deep emotion—yay disassociation! some people listen to music to make them feel while others listen to music so they don’t have to feel at all.
